On a mission to study life on a distant, Earth-like planet, astrobiologist, Dr. Sarah Blake, finds that her social anxiety has isolated her from the rest of the spaceship's crew. While struggling to decide whether to socialize at the crew's New Year's Eve party, fate intervenes in the form of an asteroid shower destroying the ship, leaving Dr. Blake as the sole survivor, orbiting an alien planet, the only hope of rescue 6 months away. Dr. Blake must fend off starvation, thirst, and extreme isolation while waiting for rescue. But her biggest threat may be something she never expected.
